  • Regional Seismic Geophysics

Consists of acquiring seismic data from focused exploration to determine whether commercially exploitable hydrocarbon deposits exist in the designated areas.

This highlights the potential of the Dominican Republic to its population and the world, being discovered through the application of advanced seismic reflection geophysics techniques and the implementation of full spread geometry with four processes that comprise the operational stage of our seismic study: :

Topografía

Topography

The opening of trails is carried out, and the source points are located where the sismigel charges are activated, along with the receiver points, where the geophones —electronic devices that will receive the information— are installed

The geophones are arranged linearly with a spacing interval of 50 meters, which will allow us to obtain detailed information about the geological and structural characteristics of the subsurface in these regions.

Perforación

Drilling

A drill is used to make holes approximately 10 centimeters in diameter and 10 meters deep. Subsequently, the shot hole charger measures the depth and begins to insert the sismigel charges.

Then, the hole is sealed with the same material extracted from the ground.

Registro

Recording

The sismigel is activated, generating waves that carry information from inside the Earth to the surface, which is captured by the geophones. The data collected is then analyzed by experts.

These activations are safe and controlled, using non-polluting material and having minimal impact on the environment.

Restauración

Restoration

The used elements are collected, and the area is restored to the same or better conditions than it was found.

Once these operational processes are completed, the seismic data collected is analyzed. With this, we are one step closer to including the Dominican Republic in the list of Latin American countries with exploitable hydrocarbon deposits.
